There is a definite chill in the air along with some beautiful sunny days this November and we are delighted that St Andrew’s Day is just around the corner!
Scotland’s national day is also known as “the Feast of Saint Andrew” so of course it is only right that we focus on food!

St Andrew’s Day recipes
Let us help you plan your St Andrew’s Day meal with our Scottish favourites from our Farm Shop! Whether you are looking to cook dinner from scratch using produce grown here on Craigies farm or sourced locally, or if you are giving yourself the night off with tasty homemade ready meals – we have it all!
It is the season for a warming soup starter and our parsnip and apple soup recipe is a tasty twist on a classic. Our veggie boxes are the perfect way to meet your daily quote of veggies and make a meal of it! Order your veg box from our online shop and we will deliver it from the farm to your door.
Nutritious winter veggies in season for November and December include kale, beetroot, cabbage and parsnips.
Celebrate with Scottish favourites
It would not be St Andrew’s Day without haggis and we have lots of options at Craigies, including Scotland’s most-loved MacSween veggie haggis, Craigies homemade haggis mini pies and pork and haggis sausage rolls or steak and haggis olives from our artisan butchery.
If you are going for a full roast, we recommend our Scotch Beef Rump Roast – a premium cut that keeps the meat succulent while roasting. Another favourite from our artisan Butchery is a juicy leg of lamb that is expertly rolled, removing the bone so it is easy to carve at the dinner table!
Pair your haggis or roast with Craigies rich and creamy homemade dauphinoise potatoes, try our recipe for the perfect roast potatoes or make up some classic tatty mash to go with your neeps using our maris piper potatoes – fresh from the ground! As well as your neeps on the side, go for buttery cabbage and kale using the veg from your winter veg box!
Don’t forget dessert! Tuck into Craigies homemade sticky toffee pudding, a warm homemade apple tart, or whip up dessert yourself with our apple and bramble crumble recipe!
If you are stocking up online you can opt for click and collect from Craigies Farm Shop or check our schedule for deliveries to your EH postcode.
