Craigies PYO highlights of 2020

While this year has been a challenge, we’re so happy that our Pick Your Own activities have been able to provide a much-needed escape for so many of you.

Whether you’ve joined us in the height of summer for our berries or in autumn for pumpkins and apples, thank you for coming along and helping make 2020 that little bit better!

We love it when you tag us in your PYO pics on social media – remember you can follow us on Facebook or Instagram.

Sweet summer berries

We saw demand and excitement like never before when we first started our PYO activity back in June.

People couldn’t wait to get their hands on fresh summer fruit, including strawberries, raspberries and cherries, and get out in the fresh air of our fields after long months in lockdown.

Autumnal apples & pumpkins

In September, we began our run up to pumpkin patch season, and it’s safe to say that everyone was truly in the spooky spirit this year!

The pumpkin patch was hugely popular, and like other farms across the country, we saw a big demand for it this year as families looked for fun Covid-suitable activities to take part in.

Aside from pumpkins, September and October are when our orchards are heavy with delicious apples. Our orchard is full of varieties you won’t find in the supermarkets!

Our PYO might be wrapping up for this year, but already we can’t wait for next summer when we can start it all over again! Until then, you’ll find us using up our Halloween pumpkins in delicious recipes and making jam from the berries tucked away in our freezer over winter.

You can shop our farm-fresh seasonal produce in store or online – find our online farm shop here.
